Lifetime reader of comics and fan of Planet of the Apes. When the two combine I can barely contain myself. Image, Boom and Titan comics fight for shelf space with Doctor Who DVDs.

No 8: Captain Marvel Actor Announcement

Brie Larson Captain Marvel

We have our Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel. Brie Larson has been officially confirmed to be playing the part of the intergalactic superhero.

Captain Marvel is the one Marvel movie I’m looking forward to. I loved Kelly Sue DeConnick’s run on the comics and she created a character who is vibrant, strong but has vulnerabilities.  If even half of the characterisation from the comics translates to the screen it will be an awesome movie.

Little information is known about the movie and it’s way too long until a release date but the announcement of the lead is exciting and with it being so early it’s possible that we’ll get to see her in action before her own movie is released.
