Little Nightmares (PS4, Xbox One, Windows)

A much more intimate experience than many of the games on this list, Little Nightmares is a puzzle-platformer developed by by Tarsier Studios and published by Bandai Namco. Tarsier have worked on additional content the LittleBigPlanet games and this game gives players a similar side-on viewpoint. Little Nightmares features a small girl named Six who is kidnapped and taken to The Maw, an underwater resort for the rich and amoral. The player must help the defenceless Six escape and make her way through the dark and twisted world of The Maw.
Featuring Tim Burton-esque animation, some tricky puzzles and real sense of urgency this game has been wowing virtually everyone on the convention circuit. Six is only nine years old, but this is definitely not a game for kids.
