Man of Steel: Superman Sequel Back In Development
A Super Empowered Community.
Warner Bros. has placed the Man of Steel sequel back "into active development". This according to numerous news reports citing sources close to the studio. Henry Cavill's performance in 2013's Man of Steel kicked off the DC Extended Universe and established Superman as one of its pillars.
Man of Steel Sequel Back In Development:
DC's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was one of the most heavily marketed films in recent memory, yet it received crushing reviews that left many raising questions about the future of Cavill's Superman character, beyond the studio's already scheduled projects.
Whatever Warner Brothers' plans might be, DC could not possibly release a Superman sequel in the next few years. Two unspecified DC films are slated for release on October 5, 2018 and November 1, 2019; however, there's no way of knowing whether or not a Superman picture would be among those projects.
For obvious reasons, Cavill's Superman was not among the DC heroes to appear in Suicide Squad, and the next likely sighting of the character would presumably come sometime during the upcoming Justice League films.
