At the start of The Force Awakens, Rey will be a scavenger on her desert home of Jakku. Her outfit and surroundings are very reminiscent of Luke’s time on Tatooine, where he was unhappily engaged in moisture farming with his aunt and uncle. Perhaps Rey is currently going through the same thing as Luke did early on, waiting on her call to adventure to lift her out her monotonous existence.
