  1. Iron Man (2008)  Avenger Initiative

Coming in at number one is the post-credit scene that started it all: Nick Fury standing in Tony Stark's living room. Having appeared as if out of nowhere, Fury then tells him, “Mr. Stark, you’ve become part of a bigger universe, you just don’t know it yet.” This line has two meanings. The first of which is that Stark has opened the door to a much larger universe of superheroes and super villains beyond Earth. The second meaning could be a subtle hint at what Marvel was planning with their cinematic universe.

The line that filled fans with the most excitement comes at the very end, when Fury tells Stark, “I’m here to talk to you about the Avenger Initiative”, setting up what would become arguably the most groundbreaking superhero film event in 2012 with Avengers.

Do you agree with our list? Did we leave off one of your favorite post-credit scenes?
