 Martian Manhunter has been a character close to the centres of the DC Universe since J'onn J'onzz first appeared in the pages of DC Comics back in November of 1955. Here, our own Davis McCondichie makes his case for a Martian Manhunter film in the DCEU.

It's no secret that DC is struggling to make the film industry work to their advantage. Movies such as Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad lacked a certain bravado that comic fans anticipate. With that said, DC is going to continue to produce content and introduce cinema goers to their catalog of heroes and villains. So, with this in mind, why not outline the perfect pitch for a Martian Manhunter movie?

Martian Manhunter is a superhero remembered fondly by those who watched the Justice League Animated Series. His calm demeanor and juxtaposition to Superman made him an intriguing character on the show. Suddenly, it seems crazy not to involve the Manhunter from Mars in a DC cinematic universe. After all, Martian Manhunter's abilities allow him to replace Superman in storylines, while still leaving room for intrigue. So, without further delay, here are five things fans need to see in a Martian Manhunter film.
