Gail Simone: A Short History

Having started out as a hair dresser and theatre major, Gail Simone first made her mark as a co-founder of the blog Women In Refrigerators, which focused on the treatment of women in comics. The website broke down the harm inflicted on women in comics for the benefit of stories revolving around male heroic characters.

Gail was soon writing Simpsons comic arcs, and eventually got her first break with one of the big comics publishers with a run on Marvel's Deadpool.

Simone has penned stories for some of the biggest characters in comics, from Superman and Wonder Woman to characters like Firestorm and Batgirl.

In 2013 Gail Simone was named one of the best tweeters in comics by IGN, which brings us to this...
