Captain America: Civil War (2016)

One of the things that Marvel is great at, among a rather lengthy list, is their willingness and ability to outdo themselves with every new movie. The final film in the Captain America trilogy was just about as epic as a film can get, and was able to outdo the previous “most epic film” in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Helmed by quite possibly the best directors in the entire MCU, Joe and Anthony Russo, Civil War introduced characters that have never seen the silver screen (Black Panther), brought some well-known characters into the MCU (Spider-Man), and included the laundry list of characters that have been a part of the MCU for a number of years (Captain America, Iron Man, etc.). The storyline of this film was a bit messy the first time through, but this film aged beautifully over the past year. It makes more sense with every viewing and new, small details are revealed every time. This was also done on purpose by Marvel before Avengers: Infinity War because Kevin Feige and the Russo Brothers wanted to pull the Avengers apart at a structural level, so they would be forced to come back together – along with the Guardians of the Galaxy and Doctor Strange – to defeat Thanos.
