A Decade of Greatness: Ranking the Top 10 MCU Films

Avengers (2012)

What can be said about this film that has not been consistently said over the past five years? To some, this is regarded as the best comic book film adaptation in the past ten years, but for those that do not see it that way, it is still an amazing film.

For the first time ever, characters and storylines that have been in the works for years were all coming together to create a team film like fans have never seen before. Iron Man, Thor and Captain America all got their own standalone films prior to the Avengers, and even the characters that did not get their own movies (Black Widow, Hawkeye) were still featured throughout the aforementioned films. This film brought aspects of every character’s stories together, such as Thor and Loki’s tumultuous relationship, Stark and Cap’s prior interactions with S.H.I.E.L.D, and Banner’s well-known inner struggle with becoming “an enormous green rage monster”. Regardless of how you feel about the Avengers films to this point, you have to admit that Joss Whedon did an incredible job fitting six very popular characters’ stories and one of the best plots to any MCU film into less than 150 minutes of film with Avengers.
