We then see Cap talking through all of this scene "I'm sorry Tony, you know I wouldn't do this if I had any other choice. But he's my friend," Cap says. "So was I," Tony responds, suggesting that by the end they will likely not be friends (Hearts break everywhere when we hear this line). Or at least have a strained one if they resolve all that happens by the end (though they better not).

Keep in mind that there is still Avengers: Infinity Wars part 1 & 2  so at some point, if not by the end of this movie, their relationship will likely see some progress.
