SDCC is in full swing and those of us who can’t be there we can live vicariously through those that are attending. Follow any number of writers and interviewers as well as the actors, directors and writers on social media and you will almost feel like you are there. You’ve read about the panels and stars that will be there but what about the offsite events? Some of these sound extremely fun!

AMC has an interactive experience called Headquarters. This includes a 22-foot slide that deposits you into a pit of walkers like the one in Fear The Walking Dead as well as a tour through the Walking Dead’s Sanctuary. There are also photos ops with Negan’s Flaming Lucille and Jadis’ Walker composter. I have seen some rumours that Funko Pop! Shiva’s are going to be handed out to attendees of the Headquarters; this item sold out in minutes on the website earlier this week.

HULU is promoting their upcoming series Castle Rock which is a psychological-horror thriller based on Stephen King's writings. Not only do attendees of the panel get to watch the first episode ahead of the release date of July 25th but they also get to have an offsite fan experience. The experience will submerge you right into the quaint but terrifying town of Castle Rock. Attendees will tour the Castle Rock B&B as well as the Forest of Castle Rock.

Geek Couture, at it’s finest, will once again be featured in the 5th annual Her Universe Fashion Show. The Fashion show will be held at Manchester Grand Hyatt ballroom opening night of SDCC. Geek Couture designers will compete for the opportunity to design their own Her Universe fashion collection for Hot Topic! For the first time, there will also be a junior division; aspiring designers aged 6-17 can enter their designs. Four winners in the junior division will get to design a piece of apparel for retailer BoxLunch.

Future Tech Live! Is at it again for it’s 3rd year of celebrating the boldest and freshest in the areas of Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), Mediated Reality (MR), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotics, Internet of Things (IoT), Blockchain/Cryptocurrency, Sustainable and Emerging Tech. They will be featuring everything from The Walking Dead gaming experience to Jurassic World VR to Deadpool 2 AR as well as Robots and the AI Innovation Fair.  There will also be eight panels in the convention hall covering many areas of cutting-edge tech topics.

Don’t miss Adult Swim’s State Park themed adventure. According to them ‘We're building our own State Park and exposing you to all the nature you came to Comic-Con to avoid’. They will be offering canoe rides in the lazy river, s’mores, live streams and even chainsaw welding woodcarvers. Don’t forget to stop by their store to get all the items you never knew you always wanted.

These are just a few of the offsite goings on. SDCC has its central convention area jam-packed with all sorts of awesomeness don’t forget to take the time and check all of the offset activities as well. It sounds like you will not be disappointed.
