Ruby Rose Suits Up For ‘Batwoman’ In The CW

The CW’s “Arrowverse” is about to get darker with a member of the Bat family, who should shake up things forever. The network has been expanding its lineup of superhero shows for the last several years. Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl and The Flash all brought new characters into proceedings.

But now, In one of the biggest casting coups for the CW Network, actress Ruby Rose has been tapped to play Batwoman in an original series. Her first appearance will be part of The CW’s annual DC Arrowverse crossover event in December which should lead into a standalone adventure.

Rose will be playing the Kate Kane version of the character, who, armed with a passion for social justice and flair for speaking her mind, soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city's criminal resurgence. But don't call her a hero yet—in a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham's symbol of hope.

Variety reports Ruby Rose has joined the Arrowverse as Kate Kane aka. Batwoman. She'll first step into the role for this year's crossover before starring in the Batwoman TV show that's in development.
