No. 3: Captain Marvel

In my personal opinion this is the star recruit who should be added to the team. Carol Danvers - aka Captain Marvel - (previously Warbird or Ms. Marvel) has always been one of my favorites.

With her own movie coming out in 2018, Carol would be a great addition to the team and it wouldn't only help this movie franchise, but her own as well. Because of her name (don't get her mixed up with DC's Captain Marvel - now Shazam) she doesn't have the same name recognition as other heroes. Not only because of the confusion over the DC character, but because there has also been a male hero that went by the name Captain Marvel in the Marvel comics universe; amazingly enough that Captain Marvel was even on the Guardians team for a while.

With her in this movie, with a team who is already extremely popular, it could do wonders for her stand-alone movie. Valuable exposure for the character that represents such an important project for Marvel.

Now, we just need to hope they pick the right actress to portray her.

Charlize Theron, Katee Stackhoff, and Rhonda Rousey have been a few of them. Sure, our future Captain Marvel needs to be widely known, kind of like how Black Widow was introduced into the MCU through Iron Man 2 (read my previous article to realize that's the best part about that movie).

Now of course Carol isn't a wimp, she is half Kree and in my opinion one of the strongest heroes out there. Up there with the Hulk and Thor. Choosing the right actress will be crucial, so let's hope Marvel doesn't disappoint us with their selection.

Of course there are other team members that could be chosen. Mantis (also an Avenger), Moondragon (Earth girl raised on Saturn's moon Titan who has psionic powers), Angela (red haired Asgardian) and Quasar (born on Thanos' home world Titan).

With so man options to choose from, I have a feeling that whoever James Gunn and Marvel choose to add to the team, will be a fine choice. Let's just hope it all results in a produce that lives up the original smash hit. They have a lot to live up to, after such a terrific origin story.

Currently, in the comics, the team has added Venom (Flash Thompson, Peter Parker's high school bully) and of course Captain Marvel.
