Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)

The highly anticipated sequel in the Captain America series lived up to the hype. This film was everything it could have been and much more. Chris Evans was able to sell the confused and distraught emotional trauma that Steve Rogers would have went through in discovering that not only was his childhood friend, Bucky Barnes, alive, but that he was also trying to kill him as well as the rest of SHIELD. Rogers’ belief in the fact that Bucky still remembers him and the confidence that Bucky won’t kill Cap is both inspiring and frustrating to fans. This, added to the fact that Cap had to go rogue and fight against many parts of SHIELD made for an intense storyline as well. Not to mention the amazing action scenes, which seemed as if they were pulled right from a James Bond film. A lot of gunfire, hand-to-hand combat and intense car chase scenes that were executed flawlessly by the stunt coordinators and actors. The directing team of Joe and Anthony Russo were also able to take action, drama, anxiety and a hint of Marvel humor and make it into arguably the best film the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
