No. 2: Spider-Man & Human Torch

Something people always seem forget about Spider-Man is that he was bitten by the radioactive spider that gave him his powers at only 15 years old. Being one of the youngest superheroes, among the likes of Captain America, Iron Man and Thor can be rather daunting when you are just a kid. But time and time again Spider-Man has proven himself to be the best of them all, doing everything in his power to save the life of even low-life thugs.

With his young age, Spider-Man had a hard time finding his place in the superhero world (turned down the invitation to join the Avengers a hand full of times) and when he finally did he was considered by some to be the greatest of them all.

Just like Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four's Johnny Storm or The Human Torch, got his powers is a cosmic storm while still in high school.

When Spider-Man and The Human Torch met, Johnny was the popular kid as he was famous for being apart of the Fantastic Four and Peter was still just a nerdy teenager. While Peter obviously knew who Johnny was, no one knew who Peter was, so when Spiderman and Human Torch worked together (rather well) the Torch had no idea he was fighting crime with his nerdy classmate Peter Parker. And while they did work well as a team, they were also rivals. Johnny was rather jealous of Peter (Peter couldn't understand why a member of the Fantastic Four was jealous of a nerd) who was a big shot photographer, got major babes like Mary Jane and Gwen Stacy and that he had his Aunt May. But through all of the showboating and rivalry and after many team-ups Peter felt safe in telling them his secret and when Johnny found out he was surprised to say the least but assured Peter that his secret was never safer.

This bromance also made Spider-Man also grow so close to the Fantastic Four that when Human Torch died (though he really didn't) Spider-Man took his place on the Future Foundation.
