Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War release is nearing closer, with the arrival of Thanos destined for the end of April. Audiences across the globe will have to wait a little longer for the film’s review embargo - scheduled to go live on Tuesday, April 24th. One day before the film’s world premiere in Los Angeles, CA, and the week of the film’s worldwide release.
Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk and the rest of the Avengers unite to battle their most powerful enemy yet -- the evil Thanos. On a mission to collect all six Infinity Stones, Thanos plans to use the artifacts to inflict his twisted will on reality. The fate of the planet and existence itself has never been more uncertain as everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment.
The upcoming third Avengers film is helmed by duo Anthony and Joe Russo who are tasked with a project ten years in the making. Written by another duo Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely the release is being hailed as the film event of a decade. The film unites the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes with the Guardians of the Galaxy for an ultimate showdown with the Mad Titan Thanos and the Black Order – a conflict that has been in the making ever since Iron Man hit theatres in 2008.
The official Avengers: Infinity War social media embargo should lift at 10:30 pm PDT on Monday, April 23, shortly after the film’s world premiere in Los Angeles. The review embargo will follow the next day - at 3 pm PDT on Tuesday, April 24. Infinity War releases worldwide on April 27, with film theatres offering late night showings the night before.
Disney is pushing for secrecy this time around, with tight embargo limiting spoilers hitting the web. Marvel usually lift reviews several weeks before launch, but with a movie of this scale, it makes sense to have closer embargo lifts. First reviews for Black Panther, and Spider-Man: Homecoming both released eight days before release. Fans should not be concerned, as Marvel is copying embargo rules seen with the Lucasfilm Star Wars franchise.
