I’ve written before about my love of snark, and this man has sarcasm down to a fine art. He is a mercenary, he is ruthless when necessary, and he is above all else a realist. This is in stark contrast to Skye, who is and always has been an idealist. Skye’s unflinching trust in SHIELD and in her team, along with Coulson’s endearing wisdom, kindness, and ability to appeal to people’s sense of loyalty has Hunter make decisions which he often questions, but never truly regrets.
