It is not uncommon for actors to want to play certain comic book characters; it is a little more uncommon for these actors to play multiple comic book roles. ComiConverse contributor Joseph Gioeli ranks the Top 5 actors who have played several comic book characters in different films.

Actors Who Played Multiple Comic Book Characters: Ranking The Top 5

No. 5: Michael Keaton

  • Batman/Bruce Wayne in Batman (1989)
  • Vulture/Adrian Toomes in Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)

Between the years of 1989 and 2005, Michael Keaton was the Batman. The late Adam West played the Caped Crusader in the 1960’s television series, but Keaton’s bleaker and more serious portrayal more fully  embodied who Batman was supposed to be.

This year, Keaton went 180 degrees and played the antagonist in the much-anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film Spider-man: Homecoming. Keaton’s take on Vulture is a sadistic but well-intentioned criminal. Toomes is fighting for the “little guy” and engaged in his own kind of class warfare.
