These video game releases, will take over our lives in the new year and hopefully even beyond.
2018 has been a fantastic year for video games, as some classic titles released in the last 12 months (including the grandiose God of War). But with the new year line up it seems like we could be in for some treats in 2019! ComiConverse list the 10 most anticipated games of 2019
Resident Evil 2 (PS4, Xbox One and PC)
Release Date: 25 January
Developer: Capcom R&D Division 1
One of the most critically acclaimed survival horror game of all time is being remade on modern consoles. And it seems like Capcom have reworked the classic for a new generation of gamers. Resident Evil 2 is a remake of the original Resident Evil 2 released for PlayStation in 1998. Unlike the original, which uses tank controls and fixed camera angles, the remake features "over-the-shoulder" third-person shooter gameplay similar to Resident Evil 4.
Kingdom Hearts III (PS4, Xbox One)
Release Date: 25 January
Developer: Square Enix Business Division 3
14 years of waiting is finally coming to an end! The anticipated title is looking to unite both Disney and Square Enix fans this January. Kingdom Hearts III will serve as the final chapter of the "Dark Seeker/Xehanort" saga
Anthem
Release Date: 22 February
Developer: Bioware
The folks behind some of the best RPG titles in history return into the spotlight with Anthem. Players will assume the role of a Freelancer, one of a group of people who leave their civilisation to explore the surrounding landscape.
Devil May Cry 5
Release Date: 8 March
Developer: Capcom
After the botched DMC reboot, fans have been clambering for a return to form. And 2019 is going to do just that in the continuation of Capcom’s original series with Devil May Cry 5. All eyes on the upcoming project!
Days Gone
Release Date: 26 April
Developer: SIE Bend Studio
Zombies are back! And Bend Studio is bringing their own twist on the legendary monster. The game takes place two years after a global pandemic occurred which killed almost all of humanity, and transformed millions of others into "Freakers", mindless zombie-like creatures that are quickly evolving.
Rage 2 (PS4, Xbox One and PC)
Release Date: 14 May
Developer: Avalanche Studios
Time for some post-apocalyptic mayhem. And Avalanche Studios is set to deliver just that in Rage 2. In the game, players assume control of the last ranger, Walker, who must survive in a world inhabited by dangerous mutants after it was hit by an asteroid.The game will take place 30 years after the original game, and feature a cast of both new and existing characters.
Death Stranding

Death Stranding is the next game from the mind of Hideo Kojima. An action game set in an open world that will tackle themes like life, death and strands. We look forward to delving back into Hideo Kojima’s wild head.
Cyberpunk 2077
Release Date: TBC
Developer: CD Projeckt Red
A new sci-fi thriller from the folks behind the acclaimed Witcher series. It pays homage to old school pen and paper RPGS while introducing audiences to a newly told story.
The Last of Us Part II
Release Date: TBC
Developer: Naughty Dog
Sequel to one of the most critically acclaimed titles ever made. Focuses on Ellie’s journey to rid the earth of those wicked Fireflies. The trailers have broken YouTube records and have garnered tons of hype.
Shenmue III
Release Date: TBC
Developers: Ys Net
Sequel to the greatest video game of all time and two commercial failures. Ryo and Shenhua embark on their new journey to reveal a shared destiny. Shenmue III will be an experience in 2019.
