Despite being in a contract with Time Warner for additional appearances as The Joker, Leto has been making statements about Suicide Squad that would lead one to question his intentions moving forward.

As we previously reported, Jared Leto had many of his scenes cut, and now appears to be increasingly disenchanted with his entire comic book movie experience; going so far as to comment to IGN "Were there any (scenes) that didn’t get cut?”.  Additionally, Leto said the following to BBC Radio 1:

I think that I brought so much to the table in every scene that it was probably more about filtering all of the insanity, because I wanted to give a lot of options, and I think there’s probably enough footage in this film for a Joker movie If I were to die tomorrow maybe the studio would roll something out.

With the film's promotional tour having come to an end, Leto decided to kick-back and sound-off at his 30 Seconds To Mars summer camp event, Camp Mars.

One fan asked leto whether or not the studio had contractually made him refrain from rock climbing. Here was his reply:

On top of this, Batman-News uncovered a Tumblr post from a fan that reportedly summarized additional negative reactions by Leto during sessions at Camp Mars.

In the words of the fan:

(Leto was) feeling sort of tricked into being a part of something that had been pitched to him very differently; thinking it would've been more artistic than what it became; feeling overwhelmed by the hate regarding the look and choices.

The post was later deleted.

Leto himself told BBC Radio 5 that he has yet to see the final cut of the film.

The bottom line is that Jared Leto remains under contract to perform as The Joker in future DCEU films. Only time will tell if the swirl of controversy surrounding Leto's involvement in Suicide Squad will have consequences for the future of the franchise. However, the numerous reports of the star's dissatisfaction are likely to raise concerns on the part of fans and potentially studio executives.

For now, fans can only hope that Leto's deleted scenes will be made available in an extended DVD, which may have been the Warner Bros. plan all along.

Do Jared Leto's artistic feelings about the project have the potential to effect his future film involvements?

Do you think we ever get to see the performances Leto thought he was giving as The Joker?
