The Rest Of The Cast

Orphan Black Season 1 Cast

Credit: BBC America

BBC America did not mess about when they got their casting caps on. I can not name a single cast member I don't respect for their portrayal of their character. There are times when one or two of the more minor characters can be a bit extreme in their reactions but often the events they are reacting to are extreme in themselves.

Having been a bit harsh in my opinion of Tatiana Maslany's lower class English accent, I would like to congratulate Jordan Gavaris on his. I am not a Londoner myself but I was convinced by this one. It was a pleasant surprise to watch an Orphan Black Comicon panel and hear Jordan Gavaris speaking with his natural accent. It is not often an American actually pulls it off such a seamless accent.

Its not just the accents that I mean to make a point of, Jordan Gavaris, along with the rest of the cast, are invested and dedicated to the characters and how they portray. This show is very well cast and managed by directors who demand the best of their actors and give them room to embody the characters.

One thing I enjoy about Orphan Black is the multitude of behind the scenes interviews and talks which show the chemistry of the cast as people, not just as professionals. The  cast and crew always talk with great enthusiasm about their project and constantly give unprompted praise of each other.
