I'm a 35 year old Canadian living in Ontario. I read comics, I love to draw and I collect comic art. I also teach karate, play hockey, and am a dad to 3 girls! My comic book passion lies with Batman and his pals with Nightwing taking a very close #2 favourite position. I began collecting comic art in 2013 and I have several commissions done by Ken Lashley and an amazing Francis Manapul Batman. As well I have sold a few of my own creations!

No. 2: Catwoman

When I searched for first appearance of Catwoman, I was very surprised to find the picture on the far left.  I had never seen that Catwoman before; though I can understand why - it’s pretty hideous!

When I think of the original Catwoman I see the purple dress and the green cape.  She was created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger, and made her debut in Batman #1 (Spring 1940).

Originally she was simply a villain for Batman.

Currently, Catwoman’s look is all black with goggles instead of the mask and it’s been that way since around 2000, though there were many costume changes between 1940 and today.  Now she’s more of an anti-heroine than a villain, but she’s still sexy as ever.
