Suicide Squad's trailer being leaked was one of the big stories coming out of this year's San Diego Comic-Con. We have the details for you here on ComiConverse.

Whenever there's a leak, there's usually a means to seal it.

With all the hype surrounding DC Entertainment at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend, there was little doubt fans were going to indulge in the footage shown in regards to the highly anticipated films Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad.

While the former showcased a new trailer during it's huge presentation in Comic-Con's famous Hall H with intentions to release it online later that day, the latter meant to reveal its own footage as a Comic-Con exclusive for attendees only.

Of course, with the fandom being as zealous and as radical as ever, someone leaked a very low quality phone video of the Suicide Squad trailer online. There was a similar issue with the first Batman v Superman, which led to director Zack Snyder releasing the official version online via Twitter.

Once the leak went out, Suicide Squad's director David Ayer and Warner Brothers decided to give the fans what they wanted and released a clear HD resolution version of the trailer online. This doesn't necessarily mean they gave in; rather it means they didn't want to ruin the film's image and reputation with such an abysmal video going around.

Warner Brothers issued a statement in regards to the Suicide Squad trailer leak at Comic Con this past weekend.

Warner Bros. Pictures and our anti-piracy team have worked tirelessly over the last 48 hours to contain the Suicide Squad footage that was pirated from Hall H on Saturday. We have been unable to achieve that goal. Today we will release the same footage that has been illegally circulating on the web, in the form it was created and high quality with which it was intended to be enjoyed. We regret this decision as it was our intention to keep the footage as a unique experience for the Comic-Con crowd, but we cannot continue to allow the film to be represented by the poor quality of the pirated footage stolen from our presentation.

The official Suicide Squad trailer can be seen below.

The film depicts Amanda Waller capturing a group of world class supervillains that are then assembled to form a dangerous task force, in hopes of taking on government missions and doing some good for the world.

The film features both a star studded and upcoming cast; including Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Cara Delevigne, Amanda Waller and others.

Suicide Squad is set to release on August 5, 2016.
