Widely regarded as the greatest Batman series ever (in comic book and film formats), and also one of the greatest cartoons of all time, not just about a comic book character, Batman: The Animated Series (BTAS) is a show that got many into comic books, and Batman. Created by Bruce Timm and Eric Radomski, and written by many but most notably Paul Dini, the series has a fan following spanning generations.

The introduction of voices Kevin Conroy (Batman), Mark Hamil (Joker) and the character of Harley Quinn (created by Bruce Timm and Paul Dini) during the episode "Joker's Favor" when she was his henchwoman. BTAS shed the light on such a dark character, and we got to see sides of Batman/Bruce Wayne we never had before.

During the second season the series' name was changed to The Adventures of Batman & Robin, making Batman's sidekicks Batgirl, Robin, and Nightwing more prominent.
