The guys are back with the latest episode of NERDCAST, so get some hot coffee and buckle up for the ride.

ComiConverse is back again with Episode 42 of the Nerdcast Network Podcast, hosted by fellow writer Jordan Samuel who invites Dale and Roger to talk about everything in pop-culture.

This week is massive for X-Men fans as the new instalment X-Men: Apocalypse has released in Europe. NERDCAST brings the official spoiler discussion on the film.

X-Men: Apocalypse

The next comic book movie of 2016 is here, X-Men: Apocalypse has crashed landed in the UK. In this section the lads provide a spoiler discussion for the people who have seen the movie already. They take aim at the newest X-Men outing.

It features the famous X-Men villain Apocalypse taking on the famous team, with help from Pyslocke Angel, Storm and Magneto. It pits all the strongest mutants into a globetrotting war which will potential break the team.

Worshiped as a god since the dawn of civilization, the immortal Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac) becomes the first and most powerful mutant. Awakening after thousands of years, he recruits the disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender) and other mutants to create a new world order. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Professor X (James McAvoy) and Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) lead a team of young X-Men to stop their seemingly invincible nemesis from destroying mankind.

Power Rangers

Better late than never! Since the last episode we finally got a look at the POWER RANGERS reboot. The guys discuss their overall opinions on the redesigned outfits and the controversy around them.

Long-time fans may see the differences gone is the spandex and instead has been replaced with something more modern. A group of high-school kids, who are infused with unique superpowers, harness their abilities in order to save the world.

Wolverine 3

We also got the confirmation of a Rated-R Wolverine sequel when we were away, finally putting the rumours to rest. It will share a future Western vibe similar to the Mark Millar comic series Old Man Logan minus the Hulk.

Jordan and Dale talk about their excitement for the solo movie.

X23 and Patrick Stewart’s Xaiver are rumoured to appear, bringing a conclusion to the Wolverine story.

Wolverine 3 drops March 3rd, 2017.

Assassins Creed

Now this one has surprised many, because 20th Century FOX has released the debut trailer for Assassins Creed. The film is based on the Assassin’s Creed series by Ubisoft and is set in the same world as the games, but isn’t a complete adaptation.

It will introduce new assassins in a storyline that fits in with the video games, in this section Dale and Jordan chat about the trailer. When Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) explores the memories of his ancestor Aguilar and gains the skills of a Master Assassin, he discovers he is a descendant of the secret Assassins society.

Black Panther

This week has been crazy for Black Panther fans, as one hot actor was confirmed and another in talks. Michael B. Jordan (Fantastic Four, CREED) joins the cast in a unannounced role in the 2018 adaptation; which brings Wakanda to the big screen.

Dale and Jordan discuss the insane line-up. T’Challa, the new ruler of the advanced kingdom of Wakanda, must defend his land from being torn apart by enemies from outside and inside the country.

Harley Quinn

Another shocking announcement dropped this week! That fan favourite DC character Harley Quinn is getting her own movie – which will evolve around Female heroes in the DCEU. This came to no surprise as she has become their female cash-cow, with her IP becoming the next big thing in media.

Star Trek Beyond

Last night the internet stood in awe, as we got another look at Star Trek Beyond. It finally showcased the vision of this space adventure, as Starfleet tackles their strongest threat yet. Surprising many with a touchy trailer that delves into how dangerous alien planets can be, with the movies immense scale shown full Centre.

The first leg of the USS Enterprise’s five year mission takes them into uncharted territory. There the Enterprise is nearly destroyed and strands Kirk and his crew on a remote planet with no means of communication. Kirk must then work with the elements to reunite his crew and get back to Earth.

Thor: Ragnarok

Closing the show, the NERDCAST boys discuss the casting announcements of the upcoming Thor sequel.

Cate Blanchett (“Blue Jasmine,” “Carol, “Cinderella”) joins Marvel Studios’ “Thor: Ragnarok” as the mysterious and powerful new villain Hela, along with Jeff Goldblum (the upcoming “Independence Day: Resurgence,” “The Grand Budapest Hotel,” “Jurassic Park”) who joins the cast as the eccentric Grandmaster, Tessa Thompson (“Creed,” “Selma”) who will bring the classic hero Valkyrie to life on the big screen, and Karl Urban (“Star Trek” trilogy, “The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King”) who will add his might to the fray as Skurge.
