On Thursday the first trailer for Rogue One was revealed, to many a surprise. The trailer showed off more of the mysterious new black Stormtroopers, as well as the first extended footage of the film. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is the first of Disney/Lucasfilm’s new stand-alone films set outside the original trilogy. The story for Rogue One is born from the crawl at the start of the original Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope.

“It is a period of civil war. Rebel spaceships, striking from a hidden base, have won their first victory against the evil Galactic Empire,” the opening crawl read. “During the battle, Rebel spies managed to steal secret plans to the Empire’s ultimate weapon, the DEATH STAR, an armored space station with enough power to destroy an entire planet.”

Check out the trailer:

Rogue One tells the story of those Rebel spies. Jordan and Micah converse about the crazy reveal.

Next week will be tackling The Jungle Book and footage revealed at the MTV Awards, along with a first impression of Captain America: Civil War.
