Steven Spielberg Superhero Movie Comments
Earlier this week Steven Spielberg said this about the fate of superhero movies.
We were around when the Western died and there will be a time when the superhero movie goes the way of the Western. It doesn’t mean there won’t be another occasion where the Western comes back and the superhero movie someday returns. Of course, right now the superhero movie is alive and thriving. I’m only saying that these cycles have a finite time in popular culture. There will come a day when the mythological stories are supplanted by some other genre that possibly some young filmmaker is just thinking about discovering for all of us. – Yahoo! Movies
In this section we talk about these comments, and what they actually mean for the genre – with our predictions on when the event will happen.
During the weekend The Tracking Board dropped some information that Nickelodeon are developing a live-action/animated crossover movie focusing on their beloved 90s cartoons including – Rugrats, Angry Beavers, Hey Arnold!, Rocko’s Modern Life, Ren and Stimpy, and more.
They claim that the movie won’t reboot each universe, instead will just bring them into the movie theater influenced by The Lego Movie, Space Jam, Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, and Wreck It Ralph.
This film could be something special or another awful cash in, but only time will tell – what is your opinion on this?
