Marvel Cinematic Universe: What’s After Phase 3?

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has become the fore front of comic book movies, through Disney since the beginning in 2008, with the film, "Iron Man". With the Marvel Cinematic Universe beginning Phase 3, with "Captain America: Civil War", it's hard not to look forward to the Infinity War movies. Which has been hinted at since the after credits of "Avengers". Where it seems that the big baddy, Thanos, will take on our favorite heroes for an epic battle and story. Our own Dewayne Edwards looks a little further, after Phase 3, and will be asking and suggesting what we may have coming up next, after Phase 3.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has built itself to be a real contender with box office numbers, with three movies being in the top ten highest grossing movies ever, and having continuous growth with fans. It has been an exciting adventure to watch the Marvel Cinematic Universe grow to be such a power house in the movie industry as a whole. For those of you who may not know, as of right now, there are three official phases with in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Iron Man to Avengers counts as Phase 1, Iron Man 3 to Ant-Man counts as Phase 2. Right now we are in Phase 3, which just began in May with, Captain America: Civil War and, as far as we know, that will end with the fourth Avengers film. We'll be assuming that will be the conclusion to the Thanos and the Infinity Stones story.

Since everything that has been happening in the MCU so far has something to do with the Infinity Stones, one way or another, could this be the end of the MCU as we know it?

There are several things that can suggest that there will be an end or at least a reboot to the MCU after Phase 3. With the big baddy, Thanos, coming to battle our favorite heroes at the end of Phase 3, it seems like there isn't anywhere to go after that, since everything has been working up to these moments. Before I continue, the Russo brother's have come out and said that the last two Avenger films in Phase 3, are no longer a two parter and that they will both be their own movies. But I can only assume that Thanos will be the villian for the both of them since this is such a big story arc to tell. And another thing to look at is that some of the actors for our favorite characters contracts will be coming to their end soon. But who says they can't hash it out and and renew them?

I believe that the MCU will continue after Phase 3, and even though they haven't announced anything yet, they must have some sort of plan after our heroes defeat Thanos, or I'm at least assuming that they'll beat him. But even though past movies have been centered around the up coming battle against Thanos, there has been countless clues towards other villains who will be great villains against the Avengers and other heroes. For example, the Mandarin, who has been hinted at since the first MCU film, Iron Man. Yes, I can hear you, I know that the Mandarin was revealed to be Aldrich Killian.  But if you were able to purchase the, Thor: The Dark World blu ray, there is featured Marvel One Shot called, All Hail The King, which explains how the real Mandarin, the one the fans want to see, is still out there, and he's pissed. Which I'm sure you can find online somewhere by now, so I won't go too much into that. And this is just one of many big baddies that the MCU can use to further a plot in future films.

Another reason I believe we aren't close to being done with the MCU is that there are still new characters being introduced and developed. Black Panther, Dr. Strange, and other characters are just now getting their debuts in Phase 3, meaning they have more stories to tell in sequels beyond Phase 3. I don't work for Marvel, and I tend not to pay much attention to rumors. So I have no idea what's happening in the future for the MCU after Phase 3. But if I have to bet all my money on if there's a Phase 4 and more or if there isn't, well I'll be pretty confident with putting my money on there being a future after Phase 3.

Do you think there's a Phase 4 and more to come?

Or do you think the MCU will be done after Phase 3?
