It's been long awaited, and it's finally here. Marvel Entertainment and Disney Studios have officially released the teaser trailer for their upcoming superhero flick Doctor Strange, starring Benedict Cumberbatch in the lead role.

With a few comic book films already being released in 2016 (Deadpool, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice) and more on the way (Captain America: Civil War, X-Men: Apocalypse, Suicide Squad) before its early November release, Doctor Strange has been somewhat forgotten amongst all the hype. With Civil War right around the corner, it seems now was the appropriate time to release this footage to the general public. In a word, it was magical.

While Marvel is riding high with many of its more popular characters, Doctor Strange is a film with the potential to truly delve deep into the twisted dark side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The trailer shows mostly Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange with a few nods to some of the other characters, notably Chiwetel Ejifor as Karl Mordo (I absolutely love this casting!), and Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One.

Showcasing mostly the main character in over 90% of the trailer is exactly what the fans want and need. Amazing visuals, little tidbits of the potential conflict and scenes that most comic fans already know are going to happen in his origin story.  Some movies have started a recent trend of revealing too many plot details in their trailers, which has caused a rift in the minds of fans who've felt the movies were just massive descriptions of their trailers, rather than the other way around.

Luckily with Doctor Strange, this is NOT the case whatsoever. Kudos to Kevin Feige and his team at Marvel for this one.

Marvel also released an official character poster featuring Benedict Cumberbatch as the Sorcerer Supreme himself, submerged in a very trippy mixture of colors and design.

Doctor Strange is being directed by Scott Derrickson and stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Rachael McAdams, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Mads Mikkelsen, and Tilda Swinton.

Be prepared to open your mind when Doctor Strange releases in theatres later this year on November 4, 2016.
