According to The Wrap, the main villain for the next Batman film has now officially been revealed.

For those of you following Ben Affleck on Instagram or Twitter, you may have seen the mesmerizing gif that was posted recently. Out of the blue, without any warning or anticipation, Affleck posted a silent and ominous 30 second clip of Deathstroke intimidatingly walking through smoke. Yes you read it right, Deathstroke. One of Batman's greatest foes. Many of you may remember him in last years video game, Arkham Knight, or from your childhood as the main villain in Teen Titans. So for those of you who remember, you know who and what Deathstroke is.

Deathstroke's real name is Slade Wilson ( Slade Wilson = Deathstroke and Wade Wilson = Deadpool, for those of you who don't know that backstory). Slade is an expert assassin with superhuman stamina and strength. With that in mind, I truly believe Deathstroke is one of Batman's greatest villains because he can truly challenge Batman's wit and strength. The fact that Deathstroke poses a genuine threat makes him a character that is truly chilling and intriguing. Deathstroke making his feature film debut should make any fanboy weep with joy.

With that said, so far I am hugely excited about Batfleck's approach to his solo Batman film. As many of you know, Affleck is set to direct, write, and star in the upcoming solo Batman film. With the critical failures and mediocre fan reception of the previous DCEU efforts (Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Suicide Squad) and the brilliant shadow left by Christopher Nolan's brilliant Dark Knight trilogy, it is obvious that Batfleck is certainly under a lot of pressure. However, we have seen that he can manage starring and directing a quality movie, with the Oscar-winning Argo being a great example of this.

So I think it's safe for people to have high expectations for this film. Overall, I think this gif ignited a fire of excitement for Batfleck's take on the Dark Knight and what's still to come in the DCEU.

All is well for fanboys and fangirls today, so keep your head up, because the Caped Crusader has bright days ahead.
