DC Comics characters have become some of the biggest movie icons in box office history. Here, in the newest addition to our infographics section, we ask you do decide whether the overall record is one of success or failure.

DC Comics saw their beloved characters come to the silver screen as early as 1951. From Swamp Thing to Superman, from Justice League to Jonah Hex, more and more fans have been able to enjoy live-action versions of their favourite heroes.

Not all of DC's efforts have been smash hits, however. 1997 in particular marked a low-point for DC Comics fans, with films like Steel and Batman and Robin both enduring catastrophic receptions.

Yet how can one overlook the triumphs like Watchmen or The Dark Knight?

With so many new projects in the pipeline, we thought now would be the perfect opportunity to look back at some of the film projects that have featured DC Comics heroes, and let our readers decide for themselves how the record of success should be measured.

Without further adieu, in cooperation with our friends at HalloweenCostumes.com, we present the newest addition to our ComiConverse infographics section; which looks at the history of DC Comics on film.

We hope you'll enjoy it.
