Daredevil Season 2: What We Know

Daredevil Season 2 is on the way and our Zane Rodriguez has the low down on what we can expect.

Most of us did the same thing and binged on Daredevil season 1 a few days after it was released on Netflix last April 10th. Since then, most of us have experienced Daredevil withdrawals. We’re here to help you what we know about Daredevil’s second season.

The new characters on the show this season are going to bring a lot of action and a lot of fun. Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead) had been confirmed to play Frank Castle (AKA The Punisher). The Punisher is an anti-hero, so it’s going to be a lot of fun to see how Daredevil reacts to a guy who goes around killing criminals in his city. This upcoming season has been rumoured to feature a Daredevil v. The Punisher theme.

Those two heroes have two different ideas of justice, so that conflict has some real possibilities to it. Going back to the Civil War comic, Frank castle has had a love/hate relationship with the heroes of the Marvel Universe, so there’s no telling exactly what the dynamics of his relationship with Daredevil is likely to be.

Another big character that is coming in season 2 is Elodie Yung, as Daredevil’s main love interest, Elektra. It was a shock to amy that they didn’t put her in season 1. I’m guessing they wanted to make sure the fans would come back for more in the second season. If so, Elektra is a great way to keep building an audience. ¬†Elektra is such a big part of the Daredevil mythos that its likely there will be a some unusual plot twists high her character, to keep comics fans on their toes.

Another big change on the way has nothing to do with the show’s characters and cast, but rather with the Daredevil crew. In Season 2 the series will be getting new show-runners. Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez will be replacing Steven DeKnight as the puppet masters behind the scenes. This might mean a new direction for the show in some respects, but I doubt there will too many unexpected it because of the success of the first season.

There is not much else known about Daredevil season 2, due to the fact that we are still months away. We do, however, have AKA Jessica Jones to look forward to which is premiering some time in the fall. Probably closer to Christmas.
