I am a proud Blerd who lives in the Pacific Northwest home. My dad had an interest in comic books and instilled a passion for them in me. After decades of being a Marvel Fanatic, I got sucked into the DC whirlpool that was The New 52 launch. Currently, I am moving more into various independent and non-mainstream titles. I am a proud supporter of local artists, comic book creators, and comic book businesses. My two goals as a writer for ComiConverse are 1) to highlight new, little-known, and/or diverse titles, artists and writers, and work that is coming out of the smaller publication houses and 2) to address issues of race, gender, and sexual orientation in comics and the industry.

Are you ready for some football? Our L. K. Roberts is here with Part One our very own ComiConverse Fantasy Football Draft.

We are slowly moving out of one of my favorite seasons (Summer Movie Season) into another (Football Season). Blockbusters featuring superheroes, desert warriors, and comedy queens will soon give way to action-filled stadiums showcasing teams of larger-than-life personas.

In honor of the upcoming kickoff to the 2015 NFL preseason, with the annual Hall of Fame Game on August 9th featuring my #1 team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, I’ve assessed the characters from the comics in my pull list and put together a top-notch starting line-up that might even give Coach Mike Tomlin and the boys a run for their money.

Oh neat! while football is already on up here in Canada (CFL Rules!) This sounds fun… My picks.. Coach – Batman, he’s got the strategy angle covered. Quaterback – Cyborg, he’s literally got a cannon for an arm! Running Back – Flash, untouchable once he’s got the ball!

  4. Nice! Batman definitely has strategy. Do you think that he’d give up control, though? Cyborg paired with Flash would be a great pairing!
