Comic book movies were huge in 2016 when it came to box office numbers. With the release of Dr. Strange, the last comic book movie of the year, there are a total of six major superhero films last year. ComiConverse contributor Dewayne Edwards looks back at last year's comic book movies and ranks them from worst to the best.

What a year it has been. Since I enjoyed each of theses movies on one level or another this won't be an easy ranking. Whether it was plot issues, cast issues or something else, there is just enough to set these films apart. To the list!

No. 6:  Suicide Squad

I was really excited about this film. It ended up disappointing me. From the Enchantress dance show, Captain Boomerang's random return, and what seemed to be noticeable editing and continuity mistakes, I found myself taken out of the movie too many times to enjoy the spectacle or characters. I may be in the minority on this point, but I really enjoyed Jared Leto's portrayal of the Joker. Obviously with his limited screen time, it left me begging for more. The same was true when it comes to Will Smith's portrayal of Deadshot. Even though he was as close as the film came to having a main character, I wish there had been a couple more sequences of him taking out bad guys. I may be asking for a little too much. Overall, I enjoyed the film enough to buy it on blu ray, but there are still major issues that force it to the bottom of this group for me.
