Batman v Superman: Doomsday Is Here
December 6th, 2015 | by Ryan Mayer
Doomsday was set loose in the latest Batman v Superman trailer and our Ryan Mayer took a look at the unveiling of the film’s big bad in his latest article.
On November 30th, Warner Brothers released a teaser trailer during the mid-season finale of Gotham. During the clip, we got a great view of a supposed “dream sequence” that will occur in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
However, the best part came at the end of the teaser, when it was announced that on Jimmy Kimmel they will be releasing the full trailer for Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. That time has come to past and the said trailer has blown every fan’s mind. In the expanded trailer, we got to see Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent meet and we see other scenes where each of the movie’s main characters fight and talk with the likes of Lex Luthor. At the end of the trailer, however, was where a major character was revealed.
MORE NEWS FROM THE WEB
Since San Diego Comic-Con, fans have been debating what enemy could possibly arise that could force Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman to team up in order to defeat it. From that day forward fans were guessing.
Would it be Doomsday? OMAC? Lex Luthor in a mech suit?
Each of these would make sense as a viable enemy that could take on the three top heroes in DC Comics lineup. After the trailer’s release, it has officially been revealed that the villain taking on the DC Trinity (Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman) is none other than…..
Doomsday will, indeed, be fighting the DC Trinity. It comes to no surprise to some fans who have been defending their hope since July that Doomsday was, in fact, the big villain that Lex Luthor was going to use to take on these three superheros. In the trailer, you can see Lex Luthor taking General Zod’s body into a lab and most likely starting experimentations on it. You hear Lex Luthor exclaim “If Man Won’t Kill God, the Devil Will Do It!”
Just a few seconds later you see something that looks like it came out of a Frankenstein movie.
By this point every fan screamed or got the hint that it was Doomsday, a few seconds after the screen blacks out and you hear the roar of the creature that will take on our favorite heros!
This reveal is one that has been called into some controversy with fans stating that it revealed too much of the movie. However, other fans believe this did not spoil anything, instead many would argue that we knew and were aware that the movie would go beyond just Batman facing up Superman and thousands were already convinced that Doomsday was in the movie.
Regardless of whether it was too early or just right, there is one thing for sure. On March 25th, 2016 fans will be not only seeing Batman and Superman going at it. We will also be seeing the DC Trinity going up against Doomsday!
What do you think? Are you excited? Did you freak out when you saw Doomsday?
