Affleck To Direct Future Batman Film

Ben Affleck is set to play a new creative role in the future of the Batman franchise and we have the details for you here on ComiConverse.

We have been hearing rumors for some time now about the confirmed Batman Solo movie that was outed for a TBA release from prequel ideas to joker based story lines.  But today new and exciting reports are coming in from Deadline that Ben Affleck will direct and star in the upcoming film.

Once his Live by Night adaptation is complete, Affleck and Geoff Johns will write a script for the standalone Batman film.

This is a crazy development for DC. Because of all the hype around there Justice League and Dawn of Justice, fans have forgotten that we indeed will be getting some standalone Batman and Superman films in the future.

This will be the first time that a superhero film has been given the opportunity to be directed by its leading man. After the brilliant Argo we can all agree that this Batman standalone could be the best in the franchise with somebody like Affleck being attached in a Directorial role.

According to Deadline, the pair are “well in sync and have more than found their rhythm” and will be handing in the script next summer.

No release date is set, and plot details are not set in stone – but will most likely be set after the events of Dawn of Justice unless we get another bloody origin story! What are your thoughts ComiConverse community.
